Barbacoa el Compadre
Every weekend, all the way from Santiago Tianguistenco, "Barbacoa el Compadre" brings its lamb specialties to the San Jerónimo Aculco neighborhood: barbacoa tacos, quesadillas, consomé (lamb broth), and more. It is a very good option for breakfast or lunch on the weekends in this area.
The barbacoa is well-seasoned, and you can tell the ingredients brought from the State of Mexico are fresh. It is a reliable spot where the quality remains consistent week after week.
Comidista Tip: Order the espinazo (spine) tacos; they have a great combination of meat and fat. Also, if you like sesos (brains), they prepare one of our favorite brain quesadillas here.
They are only open on Saturdays and Sundays from early morning until around 2:00 or 3:00 PM, depending on how quickly they sell out for the day.
