Tortas Catakil
For over 20 years, Cata has been preparing some of the most famous torta de chilaquiles in Mexico City. She started in Condesa and is currently located in the Juárez neighborhood, just steps away from the Estela de Luz.
The preparation sounds simple: a bolillo roll with beans, chicken milanesa, chilaquiles, cream, and cheese, but the result is a true chilango gem.
Comidista Tip: Order it campechana to enjoy both types of chilaquiles: green and red.
And for those with a massive appetite, they have "The Bomb"—the same chilaquiles torta but with an extra portion of cochinita pibil (slow-roasted pork). Personally, we prefer it without the cochinita, but it’s a matter of taste.
They are open from around 6:00 AM until 10:00 AM. There is usually a line, but nowhere near as long as their counterparts in Condesa.
